Trading Partners strikes deal with Backup Direct and Iron Mountain Digital to secure corporate data
May 10, 2007 - Trading Partners, the eAuction and eSourcing expert, is working with Backup Direct and Iron Mountain Digital, the technology arm of Iron Mountain Incorporated, to secure data held on company servers and employee laptops.
The company has replaced its tape-based backup system with Iron Mountain Digital's Connected Backup technology, offered by Backup Direct. This solution virtually eliminates the risk of electronic data loss by ensuring that TradingPartners' data is automatically backed up to a central location.
Prior to the switch, TradingPartners found that the manual backup of server data was prone to both technical and human error and was an intensive process that was expensive in terms of man-hours. In addition, it was proving impractical to monitor whether individual employees were backing up their laptops and, even when they were, whether the process was being done correctly, and whether valuable company data was potentially being put at risk.
