Backup DirectSecurity
Backup Direct services are supported by enterprise-class infrastructure. The data centres we use are UK and EU-based, managed by IBM and Iron Mountain, and reside in highly secure disaster recovery buildings.
Physical Security
The buildings themselves are monitored by CCTV surveillance around the clock. They have electronic access control through a single point of entry and operate using self contained power units to ensure maximum uptime. Automatic fire detection and alarm systems are installed and the server rooms operate under a climate controlled environment.
Digital Security
Each data centre is protected by multiple firewalls and directly linked to a high-speed, resilient hosting network. This backbone LAN infrastructure is fed by multiple ISPs to ensure system integrity and availability at all times.
Dual Data Centres
To guarantee reliability of service, each data set protected by Backup Direct is stored in two locations. Data stored in the primary data vault is automatically mirrored to a second data centre - an exact replica with the same security features as the primary vault. This infrastructure moves to deliver a complete failover environment and absolute reliability.
